What is a tomatillo green bloody mary?
A tomatillo bloody mary is made from, you guessed it…..tomatillo’s. While a tomatillo isn’t considered a tomato they are in the same family. People often question if a tomatillo bloody mary counts as a bloody mary, and I say IT TOTALLY DOES!!
I use other green and yellow ingredients in this recipe like salsa verde hot sauce, yellow cherry tomatoes, and cucumber to keep the green color and offer that crisp freshness! It has a bright and bold flavor that minus the whole vodka thing…it’s really kinda healthy for you!
Do I have to serve the tomatillo green bloody mary in the summer?
No, you can whip up this recipe anytime of year, I just enjoy it in the summer more because of how light and refreshing it is. I opt for red bloody marys during the colder months! It also is a great addition to any festive St. Patrick’s Day brunch gatherings due to the green color!
