The easiest and most convenient spooky drink for your Halloween party
When hosting a Halloween party you have lots going on. From the decorations to the costumes, to the food and drinks, spooky but simple recipes are much needed to help alleviate the stress off of hosting a Halloween party. These Spooky but Simple Bloody Mary Halloween Shots are easy peasy and are so good it’s scary. To fill the syringes with “blood”, just add your favorite bloody mary mix and some liquor and you are good to go!
How do I make the bloody mary halloween shots?
For this recipe, you’ll want to mix the ingredients in a bowl first and then extract the elixir into each syringe. I used vodka for this recipe but you can also substitute in gin or mezcal depending on your preference for some added flavor and uniqueness! I would recommend filling the syringes ahead of time and get them in the refrigerator at least 2 hours prior to the party, but it’s not necessary as you will be chilling them on ice. If you don’t have room in your refrigerator for that you can at least chill the bloody mary mix in a bottle first! Getting them cold before hand will give the bloody mary halloween shots that extra, “chill”, pun INTENDED!
Do I need to use a bottled bloody mary mix for this recipe?
If you’re looking to save as much time, money, and shopping for ingredients as possible then yes, I would use a bottled mix. You can even make spicy ones with a spicy mix and mild with a mild mix, just make sure to label them appropriately! You can even try flavored vodkas like bacon, pepper, or japalpeño infused for some frightfully fun flair!
If you are feeling up to it, you can make your own mix from scratch and show off your mixology skills to your guests! Should I serve anything with the shots?
It is not necessary to serve anything else with the bloody mary halloween shots, but you can certainly have some fun treats on the side if you wish. Some quick and easy “side dishes” to accompany the shots are cheese or olive skewers or a bowl of limes (especially good if you add mezcal or tequila instead of vodka)
The Spooky but Simple Bloody Mary Halloween Shots will be a frightfully good hit with the adults at any Halloween party!
Can I store the leftovers?
In theory, YES! My recommendation would be to fill X amount of syringes at once depending on how many guests you plan on having. Since they only take half a second to fill you can always add more if you run out during the party. I wouldn’t store the shots in the syringes for more than 24 hours so they don’t absorb too much of the plastic.
If you have leftovers that weren’t put out for guests you can empty them all into a bowl with any other leftover mix. I have a feeling you may need a nice strong bloody mary the next morning to alleviate the Sunday scaries…..pun INTENDED! Bloody mary mix made from scratch can stay in the refrigerator up to a week and for bottled mixes, just check the label but even when opened most can last a decent amount of time!
