Love, Serve, Remember at Cafe Gratitude in Little Italy
Cafe Gratitude
Gratitude: the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and return with kindness. I finally had the chance to visit Cafe Gratitude in Little Italy and I’m very grateful I did! As a part of the Love, Serve, Remember family of restaurants, you will certainly feel the love, have great service and remember the experience.
Cafe Gratitude, is a vegan, plant-based cafe where “love is served,” by using, “local farmers, sustainable and regenerative agriculture, and environmentally friendly products.” Cafe Gratitude’s message of nourishment, loving yourself, and being thankful is something I can definitely get behind. Here’s why I am grateful for Cafe Gratitude.
Service with a Smile
As soon as you enter Cafe Gratitude you are greeted with an abundance of warm hearts and smiles. From the host/hostess, waitstaff, and management, everyone is incredibly kind and you get a sense of calm while dining at Cafe Gratitude.
Cafe Gratitude believes in positive affirmations and they invite you to order your dish by saying, “I am” before the name of the dish. They say, “you are what you eat,” and I’m just now realizing this also is a great way to be more conscious of what you're putting into your body! Because no one wants to say, “I’m a 2,000-calorie cheesesteak.” I think I’ll try this more often!
Food for Thought
Executive Chef Seizan Dreux Ellis strives to make not only earth and body-conscious cuisine but some of the most delicious vegan food I’ve ever had. The organic and sustainable ingredients are all thoughtfully planned out in each dish and the real and fresh ingredients are the stars of each plate.
Whether you are sweet or savory, Cafe Gratitude has something for you. On the breakfast menu, there are some new arrivals including the Open-Hearted Buckwheat Flax Pancakes and the Sustained Multi-Grain Turmeric Oatmeal. I decided to try the new Hospitable Chicken and Waffles made with chicken-fried oyster mushrooms, maple syrup, and cashew coconut whipped cream. The fried oyster mushrooms are battered and fried to perfection and the cashew coconut whipped cream is the perfect balance of sweet and buttery for your waffles!
Not new, but an updated version (their menu items sometime stay the same with different takes/ingredients) of the Nourished Breakfast Wrap was insanely good. Made with a tofu scramble, potato, spinach, mushroom carnitas, pico de Gallo, black beans, avocado, pickled carrots and a delicious spicy cashew aioli that ties it all together, this is a burrito you can feel good about eating, before and after.
Fuel Your Day
If you’re looking for a healthy boost for your day on the go, then Gratitude to Go is the smart and perfect solution. Cafe Gratitude has some great fresh-pressed juice and spritzers, superfood smoothies, herbal tonics and teas, and coffee and espresso.
I highly recommend the Charmed Chai Latte with Indian black tea, cinnamon, ginger, clove, sprouted almond milk or coconut milk. If you’re like me and caffeine obsessed, then make it dirty with a shot of espresso. If you’re looking for a light and refreshing juice then I suggest the Healthy Essential Green Juice with celery, cucumber, kale, and lemon. So pure, so good.
If you haven’t been to Cafe Gratitude in Little Italy yet, what are you waiting for? Your body and the environment will be grateful you did! You will certainly feel the love, have great service and remember the experience.
