What are Caprese Tomato Tulips?

The Caprese Tomato Tulips Bouquet is a lot how it sounds. An edible tulip bouquet composed of all the ingredients in a caprese salad that will woo guests and guests of honor who appreciate food and special details. It’s an easy way to look like a culinary plating extraordinaire without having culinary school skills!

How do I make the Easy Caprese Tomato Tulips Bouquet?

It’s quite easy to make the Easy Caprese Tomato Tulips Bouquet! Using green onions as stems, basil as leaves, tomatoes and mozzarella for the tulips, and brown parchment paper for the effect of the wrapping you can whip this beautiful appetizer up in just a few minutes. Which means they are great for on-site preparation or if you need something beautiful and delicious in a pinch!

For ease you can place the Caprese Tomato Tulips Bouquet on a decorative serving tray or platter like a wood charcuterie board or marble slab.

Pro tips: Make sure you pat the mozzarella dry before you use it. Use the olive oil and balsamic glaze when ready to eat. The thickness of the glaze is necessary so it doesn’t drip all over you or the guests when eating! Or you can get artistic with the presentation and make art with the olive oil and balsamic glaze directly on your platter!

When can I use the Easy Caprese Tomato Tulips Bouquet?

The short answer….ANYTIME! However, because tulips bloom in the spring, the spring season is the most relevant time! That means the Easy Caprese Tomato Tulips Bouquet is the perfect centerpiece for Easter brunch and Mother’s Day brunch or a garden party!

But here’s the kicker!!! Tomatoes are at their best and peak season from June 1st - September 30th so there’s really no wrong time to make a beautiful and delicious Caprese Tomato Tulip Bouquet!!

Can I make the Easy Caprese Tomato Tulips Bouquet ahead of time?

I would recommend making the Easy Caprese Tomato Tulips Bouquet only right before your brunch gathering or if you are bringing them somewhere, shortly before you leave the house. Because this recipe is so simple, it will only take a few minutes to throw these together! Just make sure to pat the mozzarella dry so no excess water leaks on your serving platter, especially if you are traveling with them!

Can I alternate mozzarella cheese for cream cheese?

If you prefer cream cheese over mozzarella cheese you can definitely swap it out, but I recommend the mozzarella cheese. Take it up a notch and use the marinated mozzarella balls!

Can I store the Caprese Tomato Tulips Bouquet?

My personal opinion would be to enjoy them that day! Once you open the mozzarella it should be used within two days in general, so if you’ve removed it from the package/water then it is best to use it that day!
