Driving to Denver from the Midwest can be long, flat, and boring! But boy oh boy, when you start to see those mountains in the distance you know you’re headed for a magical place. Denver is city that is metropolitan but rugged, young, hip, home to some great sports teams (well maybe only one!) It is laid back, but vibrant, and has some of the most amazing scenery! It really reminds me a lot of San Diego, just trade the mountains for the ocean. On our summer road trip, we spent 2 nights in Denver, in a great Air BnB!

Knowing how much I love me a good brunch, my hubbby surprised me by brining me to Snooze, in downtown Denver! We got there, and in Snooze fashion, we had an hour and something long wait. When I started to read the menu, and saw all the scrumptious dishes and a bloody mary menu, I knew it would be worth the wait! Let me just say, it totally was!

Me being me, the first thing I ordered was a bloody mary without even pondering a food choice. I had quite the decision to make; The Classic (classic or spicy with habanero vodka), Boss Hog (bacon infused bourbon and house bloody mix), Bangkok (Mell Vodka, Siraccha, lime, cilantro, basil, fish sauce and house bloody mix), or the one that spoke to me: The Vine Ripe Bloody. I like the simple, fresh, and pure things in life and this was right up my alley! The bloody is LEGIT, and one of the BEST I’ve ever had (baby you the best I ever had, best I ever had, best I ever had).

Snooze takes the ripe tomatoes and purees them on-site to make this bloody mix/puree fresh and from scratch, making it so unbelievably tasty! The top had a tomato froth, from the newly pureed tomatoes and I could literally smell the vine! Along with the tomatoes, it was flooded with garlic and salt, two of my favorite things; you would definitely be able to fend some vampires off with this drink! They added citrus and parsley made this fresh bloody, even fresher! Garnished with home-made pickle, tomato, and lemon wedge, I give it a 10, 10, 10!

When we were dining at Snooze in Denver we were stoked to learn that Snooze has locations in San Diego as well! Shortly after moving to San Diego we hit Snooze up, and of course, I got the vine ripe bloody. However, it saddens me to say that the vine ripe bloody isn’t on the menu anymore (as it is seasonal) but is replaced with a Green Tom Bloody (house-made mix, crushed green tomatoes, cucumber, jalapeño, rosemary, and Mell Vodka). Looks like I’ll be making another trip to Snooze STAT!!! I have actually heard the Bangkok Is quite delicious but "Mixed Drinks About Feelings" for the Boss Hog (no personal experience applies).

The food and service is worth paying homage to. The first time around I got “Juan’s Breakfast Tacos" and the pancake flight; sooooo bomb! In Denver, our server was from the same home-town in Minnesota as my husband! What are the chances, right? So, our server hooked us up with an extra massive pancake, covered in candied nuts, sugar, and more sugar, and it was absolutely delectable. Fast forward a year later and we found out that Snooze servers can give out one free pancake a day to an awesome customer, but at least while we were there we thought we were special. The servers have great attitudes and service, especially in a place that is always 1,00000000% packed. As a former server, I can tell you, it is not easy to maintain a positive attitude when it's always that busy!

As for the rest of the Denver visit, we spent the rest of that day exploring the Denver Botanical Gardens, pre-gaming for the Rockies game, and seeing the most awesome sunset with mountains in the background, from our nosebleeds seats at Coors field! Denver kicks a$$!
