The Colossal Bloody Mary at Hexx Las Vegas

May 14th, 2016. The best day of my life! It was the day I said, “I do” to my hubby on the shores of La Jolla in front of family and friends. That was two years ago and it has been nothing but wedded bliss ever since. If you could see me through the computer right now, you would see the total bullshit on my face! Marriage is hard work guys! But when you find the right person and marry your best friend, every moment, bad or good is something to celebrate. We love to celebrate occasions with experiences rather than gifts, so for our two years, we planned a weekend in Las Vegas. We hopped in the convertible at 5 a.m. to begin our drive and team #twoyearsandstillloveeachother celebration was well underway.
We had left so early in the morning to get to Vegas that breakfast and bloody marys were weighing heavy on my mind. I made my husband drive directly to the Paris Hotel so we could get to HEXX for their brunch and The Colossal Bloody Mary! After waking up at 5 a.m. and driving for 5 hours through the fog, I’m pleased to say HEXX and the Colossal Bloody Mary made it all worth it (marriage works the same way).
We all know that Vegas is the ultimate party city, where your normal bedtime is the time you are getting dressed to go out. With all that partying and lack of sleep, you need something to replenish your body but also keep the party going. After you order your Colossal Bloody Mary, order a tall glass of water and some food (recommend the veggie omelet and the breakfast croissant). The Colossal Bloody Mary is a pitcher of boozy bloody mary nourishment that helps ease your pain so, I recommend beginning to drink it as soon as it arrives at your table! It's big enough where you can share it with a friend because sharing is caring!
Hexx uses Zing Zing mix and adds some extra ingredients for a succulent, spicy, zippy bloody that will most certainly revive your tattered soul. The acidity balances perfectly with the heat and the plethora of spices dance on your tongue. I was feeling pretty sleepy, but after a few sips of The Colossal, I was ready to rock!
The most impressive part of The Colossal Bloody Mary is the garnish! You have all the favorites such as a cherry tomato, olives, lime wedge, cheese blocks, okra, and celery to start as your appetizer. Then you move on to your second course, the meat: several strips of bacon and a few pieces of beef jerky! MMMmmmm meat. For the last course, we have the seafood: two pieces of shrimp cocktail and one gargantuan king crab leg! The crab leg is also like marriage: long and bumpy but filled with love on the inside.
Honestly, the best part about the Bloody Mary was watching the reactions of the people passing by on the strip. Hubby and I were fortunate enough to have a patio seat right on the strip with views of the Bellagio Fountains (an awesome memory in its self)! People were literally stopping and staring at my bloody mary! If you love attention, this is a good way to get it!
If you are a bloody mary lover or you just seriously need some life back in you while in Las Vegas, I highly recommend HEXX. The views are great, the food is delish, it’s open and airy, the staff is upbeat and sings along with the music and The Colossal Bloody Mary is epic! Oh and shout out to my husband who followed me around HEXX carrying my bloody, trying to find the perfect lighting for the shot in an insanely busy restaurant. Because that’s what love is folks!
