Brunchfaced: Weekend Brunch Guide

With a blink of the eye, the first quarter of the year has come and gone. I’m kind of in shock that it’s already April! Get the month started off right by getting brunchfaced at this weekend’s top picks!

insideOUT Yoga + Brunch - Hillcrest

It’s the first weekend of the month again, so you know what that means!! UPSIDEdown, insideOUT Yoga + Brunch is back!! Join 50 other brunch yogi’s at San Diego’s only urban oasis for a challenging yet engaging workout, led by CorePower instructor Andre Houle. Rehydrate and regenerate with incredibly delicious brunch options by Executive Chef MJ Testa. I attended last month and I can speak from experience this an event you don’t want to miss if you love brunch and yoga!

Garage Kitchen + Bar - Gaslamp

Just off the beaten path, on 4th Ave in the Gaslamp downtown, San Diego is a hidden gem, Garage Kitchen + Bar. You’ll immediately be getting brunchfaced at Garage with their adorable, ice cold, strong cereal breakfast shots. Keep it healthy with one of their omelets or head to the sweeter side with the decadent creme brûlée French toast with Nutella mouse. The Twisted Sister Bloody Mary from Garage is, IMO, a 2-person tag team. A thirty-four-ounce Bavarian “twist” on a traditional bloody mary, the Twisted Sister is topped with a soft, salted pretzel and juicy bratwurst and rimmed with mustard!

Farmer’s Bottega - Mission Hills

From the same owners as the wildly popular, Farmer’s Table, Farmer’s Bottega, a farm-to-table eatery, in Mission Hills delivers fresh and locally-sourced brunch fare surrounded by a charming and welcoming atmosphere (including pups on their puppy friendly patio). The spicy bloody mary is made with fresh muddled jalapeños and chili flakes and you can mix it with tequila instead of vodka and top it with Cajun shrimp or bacon! The smothered omelets and frittatas are next level good, all made with local eggs and veggies!
