Oh, the month of May! Depending on where you live in the United States, it can be gorgeous and warm, or still raining and quiet chilly. However, most can’t argue that Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of summer. A 3-day weekend for get-togethers with friends and family, BBQ’s, camping trips, and in some cases excessive drinking OR all of the above.

For me and my husband it was a short drive from the Twin Cities to the river town of Stillwater, often referred to as the “Birthplace of Minnesota”.

I drank my 5 cups of coffee at home already, so by the time we arrived in Stillwater the hunger monster was starting to show its self. You know what I’m talking about! I was “hangry”! I saw Pub 112 on busy Main Street, it looked super cute with the stained glass windows and Irishy - good enough for this Irish chick. Even though I was hangry and ready to chew my arm, the first thing I ordered was a bloody mary! Makes total sense, right?

Their bloodys are freaking delicious! They infuse their vodka with sweet peppers and make their bloody mary mix in-house! A delightful sweet taste from the pepper-infused vodka mixed with salty skewer treats that temporarily satisfied my hunger. I mean between the skewer treats (fried jalepenos, tomatoes, lemons, limes, pickle, olives, cheese) and the bloody mix, it covers several food groups, right? The rim seasonings were to die for and like a child, I used my straw to push the seasoning into my bloody. YUMMMM! Also, since this is my first introduction to a Minnesota bloody, you should know something very important about bloody marys in the Midwest; they all come with a chaser of BEER! I don’t know when and why this started, but hey, who can complain about two drinks for the price of one right? Disclosure: not all places give you a full beer, rather just an oversized shooter. But like I said; “free” booze.

Lastly and quickly, I just want to talk about the food I got. OMG the breakfast sandwich I had was bomb.com; Rye bread, avocado, fried egg, tomatoes, bacon, and Irish bacon!! I totally recommend this spot!
